Kicking off in fall of 2024, the Xperience School Safety competition invites multidisciplinary student teams to compete in teams to create an AI-enable detection, tracking, and notification system that identifies active shooter events in K-12 schoolsWinners, chosen in Fall 2025, will launch their venture with:

Start networking with fellow students who are ready to join or create a team
Get the first invites to the Xperience Competition Discord channel, where xFoundry staff and partners will start sharing resources for team success

xFoundry@UMD promotes technology innovations and advancements through collaborations with every academic discipline on campus by fostering a multidisciplinary guided curriculum with annual targeted competitions designed to address societal challenges, with the prize being a new venture launched with a sizable investment and mentorship.
Xperience Academic Track: A 15-month, 9-credit academic program for juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Welcoming a second cohort in Spring 2025, the Xperience Academic Xperience program will tackle the challenge of mental health for 18-25 year olds.
